For the fifth step into the spotlight's journey is a trip to south Yorkshire with The Designers Republic.

Founded in 1986, DR™ has been simonious with graphic arts having worked with the likes of Coca Cola, Emigre magazine, Swatch, Pop Will Eat Itself and Warp Records amongst others. Featured is just a tip of the iceberg in what DR has produced, the media doesn't fit in with other archives so it should have it's pride of place within the spotlight.

Onto the sixth step into the spotlight as we feature Andrew Carthy, better known by his stage name Mr. Scruff, is an English record producer and DJ.

His stage name was inspired by his scruffy facial hair as well as his trademark loose-lined drawing style. He has been DJing since 1992, at first in and around Manchester then nationwide. He is known for DJing in marathon sets (often exceeding six hours), his eclectic musical taste, his love of a "nice cup of tea", and the quirky home-produced visuals and animations associated with his music.
